Hi, we are Karen (Kaz) & Dave Alexander from Nairn.  Some of you by now will know us pretty well and others will have no idea who we are at all.....

We first got together when we were 18.  I was born in Nairn and decided to "up sticks" to the big city in 1988....and I don't mean Inverness as much as I love Inverness....I mean Edinburgh.  I was off to Telford College for the next few years, or so I thought and I was in the city no time at all when life changed in more ways than one.  I met Dave within a couple of weeks (35 years together next month!!) and my college career was only a few months long. I always had a way with shorthand at school and by Jan 1988 I was working as a Court Shorthand Writer! (Loved L.A. Law too so it seemed the right path for a good number of years....). Dave at this time had just started his apprenticeship in joinery (he too went to Telford) and although today people ask "Is he still doing joinery?" he very much is (around tent season of course) and he is really really good at it.

Since way back in those early days (around work and doing up flats/houses) we have been camping and glamping as part of our enjoyment of the great outdoors and in September 2014 after 12 years of living back up in the Highlands and juggling work here, there and everywhere we (I really) decided to do something totally different.  I bought a bell tent!  A lovely pretty Lilac bell tent!  Its first outing was in our back garden on my lovely mother in law's 70th Birthday and I invited as many people as I could fit in it to see what they thought.  They loved it and we had a great day.

So there the idea was born, I was going to bring the "Limelife" experience to the Highlands and see what happened.  "Limelife" for all that wonder is "life in the great lovely lush green outdoors".

What happened was the lovely people in our local town and outlying areas (regions and countries even) have totally embraced Limelife and we have been having a ball.  We wanted to do something "Happy and fun", something that made "us and others smile" and we really have done that.  Our bell tents have been at many many a special occasion and special event and we are delighted to have met so many wonderful people (and continue to meet) and we have had the time of our lives out there in our beautiful playground of the Highlands and beyond and we cannot thank you all enough.

In 2015 we were asked by Belladrum to provide a few tents in the Dell.  We would love to say we knew what Belladrum was right from the beginning but we discovered it in 2010 and we have loved it since then so it was an absolute privilege and pleasure coming for the first time and then again in 2016, 2017, 2018 and then in 2019, we made it...we made it in to the Glamping field with 23 tents and with a big thank you to our lovely glampers and the festival owners/management we have been there ever since and allowed to grow to the business we are today.

So guys, an idea, a few leaps of faith, a few storage containers full of tents and lots and lots of stuff, a lot of miles travelled throughout our beautiful land and many many a meeting with our lovely glampers celebrating many fabulous things in life we are still here and so are you....

Our wee 1 lilac tent business now has 60 tents and we get to continue doing what we do...and we cannot thank you enough.

And, of course, before we go...we couldn't have done a lot of this without our family and friends who maybe haven't understood at times what on earth we are up to but I'm pretty sure they know why we do this.  They have been absolute legends doing what they do to make Limelife what it is.

Lots of love, Carry on Glamping everyone,

Kaz & Dave xxx
